CAUTIONS: DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE if you have had an allergic reaction to any ingredient in this product. THIS MEDICINE WILL NOT STOP AN ASTHMA ATTACK once one has started. IF YOU ARE ALSO USING A BRONCHODILATOR INHALER, be sure to always carry the bronchodilator inhaler with you to use during asthma attacks. Tell your doctor at once if you notice that your short-acting bronchodilator inhaler does not work as well, if you need to use it often, or if you have a decrease in your peak flow meter results. IMPROVEMENT IN ASTHMA CONTROL can occur within 24 hours of beginning treatment, although the maximum effect of this medicine may take as long as 4 weeks or longer. If symptoms do not improve within that period of time or if they become worse, contact your health care provider. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR DOSE, use for longer than prescribed, or stop using this medicine without checking with your doctor. LAB AND/OR MEDICAL TESTS may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. Keep all doctor and laboratory appointments while you are using this medicine. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE DIZZINESS. This effect may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it. USE CAUTION IF YOU HAVE SWITCHED FROM AN ORAL CORTICOSTEROID (eg, prednisone) to this medicine. Your body may not produce enough natural steroids, especially in times of physical stress such as infection, surgery, or injury. Contact your doctor right away if any of these events occur, or if you develop runny nose, red or irritated eyes, muscle and joint pain, exhaustion, depression, unusual weakness, or severe or persistent nausea or vomiting. THIS MEDICINE MAY LOWER YOUR RESISTANCE TO INFECTION. IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD CHICKENPOX, SHINGLES, OR MEASLES, avoid contact with anyone who does. Contact your doctor at once if you have contact with anyone who has these infections. THIS MEDICINE MAY SOMETIMES CAUSE SEVERE BREATHING PROBLEMS right after you use a dose. If this happens, immediately use your short-acting bronchodilator inhaler. Seek medical care at once if your breathing does not improve after you use the short-acting bronchodilator. Do not use any more doses of this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS, EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using this medicine. DO NOT RECEIVE A LIVE VACCINE (eg, measles) while you are taking this medicine. Talk with your doctor before you receive any vaccine. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Corticosteroids may affect growth rate in CHILDREN and teenagers in some cases. They should have regular growth checks while using this medicine. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU BECOME PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
