This medication is used in conjunction with rest and physical and occupational therapies to treat muscle and bone injury or other musculoskeletal conditions.
The only type of pill for Amrix is a capsule which should not be cut or chewed. In cases where patients cannot easily swallow, it may be opened and sprinkled onto a spoonful of soft food such as applesauce. It's normally prescribed as one 15mg pill by mouth daily; however, that may be increased to 30mg if necessary. In some cases, two 15mg Amrix pills can be taken once daily.
Do not use this medication if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, or if you have used an MAOI in the last two weeks, you have or have a history of thyroid disorder, or you have cardiovascular disorders such as congestive heart failure, heart block, heart rhythm disorder, or recent heart attack. You may not be able to take this medication if you have or have a history of glaucoma, liver disease or disorder, enlarged prostate, or difficulty urinating. The side effects of this medication may be worse in elderly patients.
