estrace
(Estradiol)

Estrace is estradiol, a manufactured form of the hormone estrogen; it is prescribed as either a tablet or a cream, depending on the condition being treated. You can compare Estrace prices at pharmacies in your area by entering your zip code into the search box and then selecting the amount and dosage strength prescribed. Once you have reviewed the prices, you can download and print a reusable Estrace coupon or have it sent via text to your cellphone for immediate use at the pharmacy of your choice. You can learn more about Estrace, its costs, and how to save by reading the information that follows.

Estrace pills are prescribed to treat symptoms of menopause, to help prevent osteoporosis in post-menopausal women, and to replace estrogen in women with conditions that interfere with estrogen production, such as ovarian failure. They may also be prescribed as a component for treating certain types of cancer in both women and men. Estrace vaginal cream is prescribed to treat vaginal and vulvar atrophy as well as urination problems that result from menopause.

Estrace is dispensed as a tablet or a vaginal cream. Estrace tablets are typically taken once a day with water and without regard to food. The Estrace vaginal cream is usually applied once a day for two to four weeks, and then one to three times a week after that for the duration of the prescription. The strength of the medication and the exact dosing regimen will be determined by the condition being treated and the medical profile of the patient.

Taking or using the Estrace drug carries an increased risk of developing uterine cancer. Women over 50 who take or use this medication risk developing deep vein thrombosis, myocardial infarction, stroke, invasive breast cancer, pulmonary embolism, and dementia, especially if taken in conjunction with medications containing medroxyprogesterone acetate.  Do not use this medication if you have undiagnosed moderate to severe vaginal bleeding. Do not use Estrace if you are pregnant or are nursing a child. Keep this medication out of the reach of children. Provide your doctor with a complete medical history and a list of all medications, vitamins, and supplements you may be taking. Do not take this medication if you are pregnant; contact your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Estrace.
