Farxiga is a drug used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults by controlling blood-glucose levels. It should never be used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

The prescription drug Farxiga is an oral medication available in either 5mg or 10mg tablets. One tablet is taken one time daily in the morning, with or without food. The 10mg formula is only for those patients that cannot achieve glycemic control with the 5mg dose. Your dose may need to be adjusted if you experience injury or unusual stress, which can cause fluctuations in your blood glucose levels.

Do not take this medication if you have any kidney disease, disorder, or dysfunction, especially if you are on dialysis. You may not be able to take this medication while pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have or have had pancreatic disease or disorder (including pancreatitis), bladder cancer, genital yeast infection, low blood sugar, congestive heart failure, or have high cholesterol. Be sure to tell your doctor if you're on a low salt diet or if you take other diabetes medications, insulin, blood pressure medication, or diuretics. If you expect to have surgery, even dental surgery, tell your surgeon that you're taking this medication.

Still have questions?

That’s great, we’ve got answers.

Use your searchRx discount card at pharmacies nationwide, from the large chains to small independent pharmacies.

Because searchRx isn’t insurance, there is no program or membership to enroll in. Once you receive your card, just show it to your pharmacist and start saving on your prescription medications.

Yes, of course! Our card is not insurance, we simply provide discounts on prescriptions. Because pricing is an ongoing negotiation, please bring both your insurance card and searchRx coupon to your pharmacist to see which provides a more cost-effective option for you.

No. As mentioned previously, we are not a replacement for insurance. We merely provide discounts through coupons for prescriptions. Any purchases through searchRx will not count toward an insurance deductible.
