This medication is used as an around-the-clock treatment for moderate to severe pain that's expected to last for an extended period.

The prescription drug Oxycontin is only available in tablets, but the doses can range from 10mg to 80mg per pill. Each pill must be taken with enough water to immediately swallow it, and Oxycontin pills can never be cut, crushed, dissolved, or in any way made wet as this can release too much medication at once and lead to an overdose. The starting dose is 10mg at least 12 hours apart, and high doses (60mg or more) should only be prescribed to patients with established opioid tolerances.

This medication is addictive, so do not take more than prescribed or for longer than prescribed. It is not intended to be used on an as-needed basis. Never let other people take this medication. Do not use this medication if you have breathing problems, including asthma, or if you have a gastrointestinal blockage. Do not use this medication while you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant while using this medication. You should not drink alcohol while using this drug. Do not take this medication if you are already using an opiate pain killer, or if you have had an allergic reaction to other opioids, including methadone, morphine, Vicodin, Percocet, or any cough medicine that includes codeine, hydrocodone, or dihydrocodeine.

Still have questions?

That’s great, we’ve got answers.

Use your searchRx discount card at pharmacies nationwide, from the large chains to small independent pharmacies.

Because searchRx isn’t insurance, there is no program or membership to enroll in. Once you receive your card, just show it to your pharmacist and start saving on your prescription medications.

Yes, of course! Our card is not insurance, we simply provide discounts on prescriptions. Because pricing is an ongoing negotiation, please bring both your insurance card and searchRx coupon to your pharmacist to see which provides a more cost-effective option for you.

No. As mentioned previously, we are not a replacement for insurance. We merely provide discounts through coupons for prescriptions. Any purchases through searchRx will not count toward an insurance deductible.
